What licenses do I need to navigate a boat?
To navigate a rented boat you have to have a valid navigation and VHF license. You can have either international licenses or licenses issued in Croatia.
How do I get the neccessary licenses to navigate a boat?
The test for navigating a boat can be taken in all Port Authority offices in Croatia or institutions authorised to issue the licenses.
Should I hire a professional skipper?
Unless you have the necessary licenses and enough experience in navigating a boat, make sure you hire a skipper.
What is a skipper in charge of on a rented boat?
A skipper is in charge of navigation and safety on a boat. When renting a boat, bear in mind you have to provide a skipper with a cabin. Bigger boats have bigger skipper cabins. Meals for a skipper are also your responsibility, whether you do your own cooking or dine out in restaurants.
In what currency do I pay in Croatia?
Croatian currency is kuna and you should pay in kunas. Foreign currency can be exchanged in the exchange offices in the marinas. Credit cards are widely accepted in restaurants and shops.
What sort of clothes should I take for sailing?
Take adequate clothes; during colder months bring warm and waterproof clothes, sailing shoes or trainers that don’t leave sole marks, towels, a personal hygiene cosmetics and medicines. Boats are limited in space, so bear in mind to take your personal belongings in soft, textile suitcases. Please do not take hard and massive suitcases.
Can I take my pet for sailing?
Pets are not allowed on a rented boat. Sailing conditions are not appropriate for your pet. If you do not have anyone to leave your pet to, contact us and we will do our best to find the best solution for your pet’s accomodation.
Can I park my car in the marina?
There is plenty of surveilled parking space in the marina. Parking fee is charged extra.
Where can I buy the groceries?
In every marina there are well supplied shops. There are also big shopping centres in every city or town near the marinas.
Is it possible to order the groceries in advance through Euromarine?
That’s easy! Just send your shopping list and our staff will do the shopping for you. Visit our website www.euromarine.hr and place your order via e-mail.
Are the boats insured?

Every Euromarine boat has a full-risk insurance.
What to do in case of a maritime accident?
In case of an accident you are obligated to report the accident to the Port Authority and Euromarine charter company.
What are the additional costs?
Final cleaning (mandatory), fuel cost, port/marina fees, outboat engine (fitted at a request), oil, water and other supplies, compensation for a damage or defficiency caused by a client and possible transfer in case of one way sailing. Deposit money is paid at the arrival in cash or by credit card (Visa, EuroCard, MasterCard), and is returned if a boat does not suffer any damage. What if I must cancel?
If for any reason you must cancel Euromarine charter service, you are fully entitled to find another person who will take your place and all obligations from the Contract. If you cannot find a replacement, the charter company will keep :
- 30% of reservation in case you cancel the service at least 4 weeks prior to your scheduled date
- the whole amount of reservation in case you cancel the service within 4 weeks prior to your scheduled date
